Sentimental Sundays Challenge: Dry Embossing

Good morning and happy Sunday!  I love Sundays because that means there is a new challenge over at Sentimental Sundays Challenge blog.  Today we are showcasing the dry embossing technique.  So grab your Big Shot or Cuttlebug and your favorite embossing folders and play along with us.

Recipe
card stock: SU!
embossing folders: Seeing Spots, Swiss Dots
dies: Scalloped and Stitched Circle (My Creative Time)
Sentiments: Classmate Valentines (My Creative Time)

On this card I FINALLY used the dies and stamps from My Creative Time.  They are so cute and I've been waiting for the perfect moment to use them and I think this occasion called for it!

I was so excited to make these little cards.  They are 3x3 cards for my class.  This is the first year I am making them homemade cards.  Sure most of them will end up in the trash, but I love it when a few of them take them out of their backpacks a couple months later and are excited to show you that they still have it.  It melts my heart...

As you can see, I had a lot of fun participating in this challenge.  I know you will to.  So make sure to head on over to Sentimental Sundays and play along with us!!

A Note of Thanks

It has been a long while since I have made a card for a few challenges, other then the design team I'm on.  It felt really nice to be able to create just because I felt like it.  This weekend I cleaned up my room and rearranged it and I was able to move around and get things accomplished.  Too bad it's back to being messy after just one project.  Did I also mention that it's 11:30 at night and I will only be getting 5 hours of sleep, but it's so worth it... every once in a while.  ;-)

Recipe
Card stock: Recollections (kraft)
Cartridges: Simply Charmed (paper and pencil), Hello Kitty Greetings (Hello Kitty)
Sentiment: SU! (Thank you Kindly)
Peachy Keen Hello Kitty Faces
Twine: The Twinery
**NEW** Punch: EK Success (Three Ticket Punch) **NEW**

I love this card because it's actually two cards in one.  A teacher friend at work gave this amazing writing training and she re-energized me and got me excited about teaching again after the long winter break.  I was so appreciative that I knew I wanted to make her a card.  That same day her daughter drew a picture of me so I decided to add a little something for her as well.  I actually made the piece of paper a pocket so I could slide the little Hello Kitty tag inside of it.

Here's a better picture of the tag.  If you want to know how I created the pocket, watch the video at the end of this post.

Challenges
Fantabulous Cricut: Label It
Lothian Crafts Online: Die Cuts
Paper Playtime: Tags and a Sentiment
More Than Favors: Animate It

Sentimental Sundays: Die Cut Challenge

Hello and welcome to another Sentimental Sundays challenge.  Today's challenge is a die cut challenge.  I love die cuts because that means that I get to use my Cricut.

Recipe:
Twine: The Twinery (Maraschino)
Sentiment: My Creative Time (100% Sweetness)
Image: The Paper Shelter (Love in Venice)
Cartridge: Simply Charmed

Don't you just love this image?  It's so cute.  This week we are sponsored by The Paper Shelter.  They have such adorable images to choose from.  Make sure to play along with us and you will have a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to shop with them!

As you can see, this card has a lot of dimension.  I found my new favorite pop dots, they are from Recollections and they are squares.  They come in large and small.  It was so nice to be able to use the small pop dots without having to cut them.  To make the heart, I welded a heart from the Simply Charmed cartridge (My go to cartridge, it has everything you need.) onto a square and just layered it on top of my image.  I am so proud of my card.  Next time I will probably mask off the image and do something with the background.

Make sure to head on over to Sentimental Sundays and play along with us.

Sentimental Sundays Challenge: Ribbon

Good Morning and welcome to another Sentiment Sundays Challenge.  Today we are playing with ribbon.  Today's card and challenge was definitely a challenge for me.  I love ribbon, but I hardly use it on my cards.  Our challenge this week is sponsored by Fred, She Said Designs.  This card has a nice little surprise to it...

I used the digital image, Fred's Flowers v4 Dahlias Outline Sheets.  I love this image because it's so versatile.  You can make flowers in many different sizes.  You can put them on cards or scrapbook layouts.  If you couldn't tell, I used Copics for the first time!  I was so excited when i received them as a gift.  I can't wait to use them on even more projects.

As you can see there is a lot of dimension to this flower.  Next time I make this flower I will add some Stickles to the ends.  I wanted to keep this card fairly simple and focus on the Copic flower.  I hope you enjoyed it and make sure to head on over to Sentimental Sundays to play along.

Snow, Blue, and Glitter

It's officially January now.  I hope you all had fun playing along in the blog hop.  I know that I did.  I was loving everything you all created and linked over at Sentimental Sundays.  I have the winner of my blog hop giveaway.  I used random.org to choose a winner.  Check the end of this post to see who the winner is.

Today is the start of another challenge over at Sentimental Sundays.  The challenge this week is Snow, Blue, and Glitter.  Create a card, layout, or 3D project with one or all three of those.  Also, make sure that your project has a sentiment located somewhere on it.

Onto my project...

Recipe
paper: Recollections (Jingle Bells)
twine: The Twinery (Caribbean)
ink: Ranger Distress Ink (Broken China)
cartridge: CTMH Art Philosophy (fry box cut at 6.5")

This week's challenge is sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.  They were generous enough to let us choose one digital image of our choice to create a project to share with all of you.  I chose the Warm Winter Wishes sentiment because I knew right away that I wanted it to be the focal point of a 3D project.  I decided to make a fry box that is used to hold hot chocolate mix and homemade sugar cookies.  I will be giving this nice little package to my BFF Maribel since I haven't seen her in almost 3 weeks!

Now onto the blog candy winner...

Congratulations Deanna!  You have until Friday January 13th to claim your prize.  Please email me at justdahling@hotmail.com with your full name and address so I can get your package out to you ASAP!!  :-)

Sentimental Sunday's New Year's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sentimental Sundays “Anything Goes” New Year's blog hop.  Sunday, January 1st, brings the launch of the new Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog and we are all excited to start things off with a fun and prize loaded Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from E.T.  If you didn't arrive from her blog and would like to join in the hop, please start at the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog.

Recipe
Sentiment: My Creative Time (Just a Little Note to Say...)
Image: Meljen's Designs (Pixie Dust Fairy)
Embellishments: SU! watercolor pencils, Dazzling Details, Liquid Pearls

My card today was made using a Meljen's Designs digital image.  One of my goals this year is to experiment with digital images as well as Copics.  Unfortunately, I only have 4 Copic markers (none of which blend well together).  If all digital images are as cute as this one, I know I'll have no problem with adding them to my cards.

We hope you will join in our “Anything Goes” (plus a sentiment) challenge this week.  Our sponsors include: Whimsy Stamps, Meljen's Designs, Pink Cat Studio and Digital Delights by Louby Lou.  Some of our design team members will also be offering prizes on their blogs so be sure to visit each stop along the way and enter your comments.

I, myself, am giving away a prize.  As a lover of my Cricut, I know how much a new cartridge is loved.  I will be giving away a new cartridge to one lucky winner.  The cartridge I'm giving away is Mickey Font.

I know that a lot of you out there are Disney fans, but even if you aren't, this cartridge is a font cartridge.  Font cartridges are MUST HAVES.  I don't know what I would do without a great font cartridge.  I'm able to create my own custom sentiments. perfect for playing along with us at Sentimental Sundays.

Rules for the Giveaway
  1. You must be a follower.
  2. Leave a comment telling me one of your goals for the new year.
I will choose a winner at random and announce the winners on Sunday January 8th.  So make sure to check back to see if you won!

On with the hop...

Your next stop on the hop is Bente.  If you should happen to get lost along the way, you can find the blog hop list over at the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog.  The hop ends on Saturday, January 7th at midnight EST.  The winners will be announced on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog on Sunday, January 8th .  So, hop on over to the next stop and good luck!
Thank you so much for stopping by.
