First Mini Album

Hello everyone.  I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas.  I know I did.  It felt a little different because we were out of town, but we still had a lot of fun.  I have a video, kind of a "travelogue" of my trip.  I will post it at the end of this post.  I wanted to share with you a mini album that I made for my mom.  It was the first mini album I ever made and I made the whole thing from start to finish.

This mini album took two FULL days.  I worked on it from morning-til-night.  It was definitely worth it and it made my mom happy.  After making this mini album, I can see myself making many more in the future.  It's just a really nice way to preserve memories.

Four Calling Birds

Here is day 4, Four Calling Birds.  i had this card finished days ago, but I took it to work to show my friend, and I forgot it there!  Unforunately, I hadn't taken a picture of it, so I was pictureless for a while.  Some of you may have already seen it on YouTube.  Here is the close up picture though.

Recipe
cartridges: Hoot 'n' Holler (owl), Elegant Edges(card base),
Happily Ever After and George and Basic Shapes (iChirp)
stamps: Peachy Keen Stamps (Large Critter Faces), Studio G (Speech Bubble)

My favorite part of this whole card is the iChirp.  Since she's a calling bird, she had to have a cute little phone.  The "iPhone" was my husband's idea.  I think it is perfect for this card.

I had bought a Studio G stamp set from the $1 bin at Michaels a few months ago.  I thought they were so cute that I just had to use them.  I never had a use for them until today and I think they are precious.  I love how they are blank and are customizable to your project.

Three French Hens

Click HERE to enter my Birthday/Holiday Giveaway!

Today's card was almost a no-go.  I had so many great ideas, but I did have the materials I was looking for.  I hate being limited by my supplies.  That's when it makes me a feel a little better whenever I go shopping.  Today was defniitely a day where I wish I just had the perfect digital image and Copics to complete my card.

Recipe
cartridges: Everyday Paper Dolls ("baret" altered),
3 Birds on Parade (everything else)
ink: Ranger Distress Ink (evergreen bough, festive berries, iced spruce)
stamp: Peachy Keen Stamps (critter faces)

I'm not sure how many of you have used distress inks before, but I am in love with them.  This was my first time and I highly recommend them.  I finally gave in and bought some inks, the inking tool, and the mat.  Very smart investment!!  I love it and I couldn't imagine using the inks without the tool or the mat.

Two Turtle Doves

Let the Twelve Days of Christmas continue...

Today card is inspired by Two Turtle Doves.  I was brainstorming with my BFF Maribel, trying to come up with all sorts of ideas for today's card.  I finally decided on this finished product.

Recipe
cartridges: Create a Critter (turtles),
Gypsy Wanderings (wings), Winter Woodland (Holly)
paper: Recollections (Jingle Bells
stamps: Peachy Keen Stamps (Boy Mates)
twine: The Twinery (Peapod)

These two little turtles have wings because they're "turtle doves".  They are in love and they are standing under "mistletoe".  It's actually holly, but I didn't have a Cricut image of mistletoe so you work with what you have.

Don't they look so in love?

I really love this card.  I know I say this about all of my cards, but they always come out better then I expect.  I'm really enjoying this Twelve Days of Christmas Series because it's not only getting me in the holiday spirit, but it's getting me to sit down and create.  I love it!!

If you want to see how I put this all together, watch the video.  :-)

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Welcome to day one of my Twelve Days of Christmas series.  Today's card is inspired by A Partridge in a Pear Tree.  Now you will see that the bird isn't a partridge, but she's adorable.  I also put little pear ornaments on the tree.  You might be a little confused with this card unless you knew it was for the 1st day of Christmas.

Recipe
cartridges: Art Philosophy (card base),
3 Birds on Parade (little birdie), Savory (pears), and Create a Critter (treee)
paper: DCWV Tis the Season
stamps: Peachy Keen Stamps Critter Faces Large Set
twine: The Twinery (marachino and blossom)

Here's a side view to see how popped up this card really is.

I still can't get over how cute she is!!  ^_^

I really love how this card turned out and I hope you like it too.  If you want to see the details on how I put this card together, view the video at the end of this post.

I am also entering this card into a couple challenges.
