Sentimental Sundays Design Team

I have been waiting a very long time to make a very special announcement.  I was going to wait until January 1st to make this announcement, but we were given the okay to announce it on Christmas.  Well it's 2, almost 3 days past Christmas and I can't wait any longer.

I'm on the Sentimental Sundays Design Team!!!!!

Sentimental Sundays DT

I am so honored to be on such an amazing design team.  If you are unfamiliar with Sentimental Sundays, it's a challenge blog that posts new challenges every Sunday.  They are sentiment based.  Who doesn't love a good sentiment.  This design team will take me out of my comfort zone, in a good way and allow me to expand my love of crafting.  Expect  digital images and Copic coloring this next year.  I will never be leaving my beloved Cricut projects, they are who I am.  Just adding a little more the the equation.

I'm so excited and what better way to celebrate then with a blog hop.  Sentimental Sundays will be having a blog hop January 1, 2012 with TONS of prizes.  You're not going to want to miss it.

First Mini Album

Hello everyone.  I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas.  I know I did.  It felt a little different because we were out of town, but we still had a lot of fun.  I have a video, kind of a "travelogue" of my trip.  I will post it at the end of this post.  I wanted to share with you a mini album that I made for my mom.  It was the first mini album I ever made and I made the whole thing from start to finish.

This mini album took two FULL days.  I worked on it from morning-til-night.  It was definitely worth it and it made my mom happy.  After making this mini album, I can see myself making many more in the future.  It's just a really nice way to preserve memories.

Four Calling Birds

Here is day 4, Four Calling Birds.  i had this card finished days ago, but I took it to work to show my friend, and I forgot it there!  Unforunately, I hadn't taken a picture of it, so I was pictureless for a while.  Some of you may have already seen it on YouTube.  Here is the close up picture though.

Recipe
cartridges: Hoot 'n' Holler (owl), Elegant Edges(card base),
Happily Ever After and George and Basic Shapes (iChirp)
stamps: Peachy Keen Stamps (Large Critter Faces), Studio G (Speech Bubble)

My favorite part of this whole card is the iChirp.  Since she's a calling bird, she had to have a cute little phone.  The "iPhone" was my husband's idea.  I think it is perfect for this card.

I had bought a Studio G stamp set from the $1 bin at Michaels a few months ago.  I thought they were so cute that I just had to use them.  I never had a use for them until today and I think they are precious.  I love how they are blank and are customizable to your project.

Three French Hens

Click HERE to enter my Birthday/Holiday Giveaway!

Today's card was almost a no-go.  I had so many great ideas, but I did have the materials I was looking for.  I hate being limited by my supplies.  That's when it makes me a feel a little better whenever I go shopping.  Today was defniitely a day where I wish I just had the perfect digital image and Copics to complete my card.

Recipe
cartridges: Everyday Paper Dolls ("baret" altered),
3 Birds on Parade (everything else)
ink: Ranger Distress Ink (evergreen bough, festive berries, iced spruce)
stamp: Peachy Keen Stamps (critter faces)

I'm not sure how many of you have used distress inks before, but I am in love with them.  This was my first time and I highly recommend them.  I finally gave in and bought some inks, the inking tool, and the mat.  Very smart investment!!  I love it and I couldn't imagine using the inks without the tool or the mat.

Birthday/Holiday Giveaway

Hello!  How was everyone's day?  My day was quite stressful.  I am definitely ready for winter vacation.  Only one more week until vacation.  I'm so excited because we're actually going out of town for vacation.  Up to the snow!!!  So if anyone has tips for driving in the snow and ice PLEASE send them my way.  :-)

I'm also really excited to announce that I am having a birthday/holiday giveaway!!!  Can I hear a WHOO-HOOO!?!?

I don't know how many of you have your birthday during the holidays, but I do.  I have a love hate relationship with my December birthday.  With it only being 10 days before Christmas, I've had my share of Christmas bards that say Happy Birthday inside them.  You either get over looked and feel really special on your birthday.  As a child I always wished my birthday was in the summer because then you only have to wait 6 months before something exciting comes.  I mean, what other holidays do you wait for as a child other than your birthday and Christmas?  At least with your birthday in the summer, you have something to look forward to after Christmas is over.  I also thought it was fun though because our school Christmas party always seemed to land on my birthday and my teachers always said it was a Christmas/Jennifer's birthday party!!  :-)  Guess when my work holiday party is...

So enough with the stories, I know you're all excited to know what I will be doing as a giveaway?  Well if you want more information, watch the video below.  Then read the rules after this video.

Rules

1. You MUST be a follower.
2.  Go to my gallery and pick your favorite project and tell me why it's your favorite.

That's it!!

Giveaway will end December 14th, at midnight MST.  Winners will be announced on my blog December 15th!  So make sure to check back!!

Good luck to you all and happy commenting.  :-)

Two Turtle Doves

Let the Twelve Days of Christmas continue...

Today card is inspired by Two Turtle Doves.  I was brainstorming with my BFF Maribel, trying to come up with all sorts of ideas for today's card.  I finally decided on this finished product.

Recipe
cartridges: Create a Critter (turtles),
Gypsy Wanderings (wings), Winter Woodland (Holly)
paper: Recollections (Jingle Bells
stamps: Peachy Keen Stamps (Boy Mates)
twine: The Twinery (Peapod)

These two little turtles have wings because they're "turtle doves".  They are in love and they are standing under "mistletoe".  It's actually holly, but I didn't have a Cricut image of mistletoe so you work with what you have.

Don't they look so in love?

I really love this card.  I know I say this about all of my cards, but they always come out better then I expect.  I'm really enjoying this Twelve Days of Christmas Series because it's not only getting me in the holiday spirit, but it's getting me to sit down and create.  I love it!!

If you want to see how I put this all together, watch the video.  :-)

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Welcome to day one of my Twelve Days of Christmas series.  Today's card is inspired by A Partridge in a Pear Tree.  Now you will see that the bird isn't a partridge, but she's adorable.  I also put little pear ornaments on the tree.  You might be a little confused with this card unless you knew it was for the 1st day of Christmas.

Recipe
cartridges: Art Philosophy (card base),
3 Birds on Parade (little birdie), Savory (pears), and Create a Critter (treee)
paper: DCWV Tis the Season
stamps: Peachy Keen Stamps Critter Faces Large Set
twine: The Twinery (marachino and blossom)

Here's a side view to see how popped up this card really is.

I still can't get over how cute she is!!  ^_^

I really love how this card turned out and I hope you like it too.  If you want to see the details on how I put this card together, view the video at the end of this post.

I am also entering this card into a couple challenges.

Imagine 101

I've had my Imagine for a week now and I think I have it all updated and set up. Man, it took me a whole week to get it all ready. Now I am ready to have some fun. And with winter vacation coming up in just 2 weeks, you know I'll be having fun. If you were like me and got in Imagine on Black Friday, or you've had one for a while, or you are just interested in seeing how the Imagine works, watch these four videos on how I set up my Imagine and updated it.

Twelve Days of Christmas

I'm excited to announce that I will be starting a new holiday series over at my YouTube channel as well as on my blog. I'm going to be doing 12 projects from now and Christmas on the Twelve Days of Christmas. I will be starting with day one... A Partridge in a Pear Tree. I will take inspiration from each phrase from the Christmas carol and use it on my project. For example, for day one I can use a bird, a pear, a tree, even the number one. I have been planning this since January 2011! I'm so excited that it's finally here!!!

The days will be as follows...

Day 1: A Partridge in a Pear Tree
Day 2: Two Turtle Doves
Day 3: Three French Hens
Day 4: Four Calling Birds
Day 5: Five Golden Rings
Day 6: Six Geese-a-Laying
Day 7: Seven Swans-a-Swimming
Day 8: Eight Maids-a-Milking
Day 9: Nine Ladies Dancing
 Day 10: Ten Lords-a-Leaping
Day 11: Eleven Pipers Piping
Day 12: Twelve Drummers Drumming
